  1. 2. Web-Enhanced Course – Online course activity complements class sessions without reducing the number of required class meetings. Any course tied to the traditional classroom but involving some sort of computer usage, say as in a software simulation, or design software for art or engineering applications but still anchored to the normal time spent in classes would fall in this category. Also in instances where usage of internet technology is not used to supplant any classroom activity or time spent in the classroom, but rather argument it, it is common practice, though not universally accepted, to use the term web-enhanced; and they are likely to be applicable to out-of-the-classroom learning and some apply in either instance. Traditional courses and web-enhanced courses are very similar, indistinguishable in most cases, and therefore they appear in a single category. These traditional, web-enhanced courses are not normally considered to be e-learning courses.
Definition of Web-centric is what we have to do with the Web. A Web-centric view of something means that the application or system has been designed for the Web.
    Definition of Online Courses
An online course is defined as one for which all regularly scheduled classroom time is replaced by required activities completed at distance and managed online.
    • A standard definition provides predictability for students and for the course scheduling process.
    • This definition is in line with community standards and our peer institutions.
    • Online courses allow students to take courses from geographically remote locations, without any need to come to campus (for instance while deployed in the military)

  3. 3. For example: Groups of students in a science class are discussing a problem in physics. Though the teacher knows the "answer" to the problem, she focuses on helping students restate their questions in useful ways. She prompts each student to reflect on and examine his or her current knowledge. When one of the students comes up with the relevant concept, the teacher seizes upon it, and indicates to the group that this might be a fruitful avenue for them to explore. They design and perform relevant experiments. Afterward, the students and teacher talk about what they have learned, and how their observations and experiments helped (or did not help) them to better understand the concept.

  4. 4. The differences between web versus classroom teaching learning process.
    a) Classroom:
    - Access = Limited
    - Quality = Varied
    - Results measurement = Difficult
    - Retention of information = Varied
    - Relative cost = High
    b) Web:
    - Access = 24 X 7
    - Quality = Consistent
    - Results measurement = Automatic
    - Retention of information = High
    - Relative cost = Low

    5. a) E-Learning is a learning process that:
    - Using the full power of the internet.
    - Providing connectivity and collaboration.
    - Personalized access.
    - Wide range of content.
    - Synchronous and asynchronous learning.
    - A knowledge and information infrastructure.

    b) Distance learning
    - Distance learning is a set of methods of teaching where teaching activities carried out separately from the learning activities.
    - Separating the two activities may be either physical distance, such as teaching participants residing far away from the location of educational institutions.
    - Separator can also be non-physical distance that is a situation that forces a person who lived near the location of educational institutions but can’t follow the learning activities at the institution.
    - Activity that is separated from teaching and learning activities is a typical characteristic of distance education.
    d) Computer conferencing is a dialogue (text based) via a computer network with an asynchronous mode (asynchronous /delayed). As we know that there are two modes of communication through computer networks:
    - Synchronous: chat, video conferencing.
    - Asynchronous: computer conferencing.

    - Retention of information : High
    - Relative cost : Low and cheap
    But
    In classroom
    -Access : 24 X 5(limited)
    - Quality : Quality teaching is identified as a key influence on high quality outcomes for diverse students. The evidence reveals that up to 59% of variance in student performance is attributable to differences between teachers and classes, while up to almost 21%, but generally less, is attributable to school level variables.
    - Results measurement : Each independent education agency specifies its own outcomes and its own methods of measuring student achievement according to those outcomes. The results of these measurements can be used for different purposes. For example, one agency may use the information to determine how well the overall education system is performing, and another may use its assessments to determine whether an individual student has learned required material.
-Retention of information : varied and active
    - Relative cost : Low and cheap

    5. Meanwhile, computer conferencing is used to continue the discussion when real time interaction is not required. For some courses, computer conferencing may be sufficient. Because the classroom is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, students have the flexibility to schedule their learning time around their other personal and professional commitments. Computer conferencing represents a new domain for educational interaction and it is essentially collaborative and team based.

    2. -Web course is the use of the Internet for educational purposes, in which learners and teachers completely separate and no need for face to face. The whole teaching materials, discussion, consultation, assignments, exercises, exams, and other learning activities delivered entirely over the internet.

-Web-centric course is the use of the Internet that combines distance learning and face to face (conventional). Some material delivered via the Internet, and partly through face to face. in this study, students and supervisors will share information about the material or anything that they find on the internet.

-Web enhanced course is the utilization of the internet to support the promotion of quality learning done in class.

    3. The change of teaching learning paradigm in this modern era happened because of technology. People focus on the teacher as the only one source of learning before they use technology. But now, everyone use internet or technology for learning. Teacher/lecturer only as an instructor or controller.

    4. Web

-No requirement for location-based activities or for synchronous activities.
    -Flexible times and places.
-Significant use of web technology to facilitate systematic interaction and learning.
    Web-Centric Course:
-Shift of primary focus from classroom to web.
-Significant use of web technology to facilitate systematic interaction and learning.
    -Time on-line can vary greatly.
    -Can be cohort-based
-May look a lot like a regular on-campus course or evening course.
    Web-Enhanced Course:
    -Can be evolutionary phase.
-Uses web technology to support usual on campus course activities
    -Supports:
-distribution of papers, announcements, course management
-communication between students and faculty and between students
-access to content and dynamic resources
-faculty and students learning over time.

    3. The new paradigm of teaching
    • knowledge is constructed, discovered, transformed, and extended by students
    • students actively construct their own knowledge
    • teacher effort is aimed at developing students’ competencies and talents
    • education is a personal transaction among students and between teachers and students as they work together
    • all of the above can only take place within a cooperative context
    • teaching is assumed to be a complex application of theory and research
    • that requires considerable teacher training and continuous refinement of skills and procedures (Johnson, Johnson, & Holubec, 1998).

    5. E-learning consists of all forms of electronically supported learning and teaching. The information and communication systems, whether networked learning or not, serve as specific media to implement the learning process. The term can be used in out-of-classroom and in-classroom educational experiences via technology, even as advances continue in regard to devices and curriculum.
E-learning is essentially the computer and network-enabled transfer of skills and knowledge. E-learning applications and processes include Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual education opportunities and digital collaboration. Content is delivered via the Internet, intranet/extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV, and CD-ROM. It can be self-paced or instructor-led and includes media in the form of text, image, animation, streaming video and audio.
E-learning is same with CBT (Computer-Based Training) or IBT (Internet-Based Training)
Distance learning is a field of education that focuses on teaching methods and technology with the aim of delivering teaching, often on an individual basis, to students who are not physically present in a traditional educational setting such as a classroom. It has been described as a process

  16. 3.“The change”. Interesting as usual sir. I think we need to look behind first to answer this kind of question sir. Through history, in colonial time, we lack of education. Learning is for rich. But besides it, the flowing of education was mostly one way but they didn’t only focus on academic, skills was one of their focuses. In early Independence Day till 90’s, I know one, discipline was an obligation. But, there many who attends to school in that time. The number kept increasing because they learn to believe that education become more important. Now days, education is a price that we need to pay for our future. 

    - Distance learning is kind of learning that students have no obligation to attend into normal classes but have to attend regularly into online course.
    - Computer conferencing is methodology of learning through internet itself sir. It gives us the chance to perform what we have done in ‘fake’ face to face meeting. We use two computers with video conferences hardware and software supported by a high internet access to bring up video conferences to live.

2.Web Course, is the use of the Internet for learning purposes, in which all learning materials, discussion, consultation, assignments, exercises and exams delivered entirely over the internet. Between students and faculty completely separated, but the relationship or communication may be made at any time. More communication is done pending rather than immediate reply. This course web forms do not require a face to face activities both for learning and evaluation and test, because all of the learning process entirely done through the use of Internet facilities like e-mail, chat rooms, bulletin boards and online conferencing.

Web-centric course is the use of the Internet that combining distance learning and face to face (conventional). Most of the material presented through the Internet, and partly through face to face. The function is complementary. In this model, teachers can provide clues to the students to learn
subject matter over the web that has been made. Students are also given referrals
to seek other sources of relevant websites. In face to face, the participants such as
learners and teachers discussion more about the findings of the material that has been studied through the internet.

Web enhanced course is the use of the Internet to supportimproving the quality of learning done in class. Internet functions are
to provide enrichment and communication between learners with teachers, fellow learners, members of the group, or students with other resource persons. Therefore, the role of teachers in this case are required to master the technique of looking for information on the Internet, guiding students seek and find sites relevant to the learning materials, presents the material through the web attractive and desirable, serves guidance and communication through the Internet, and other necessary skills.

From Teacher-centered instruction to Students-centered instruction
From Single-sense stimulation to Multisensory stimulation
From Single-path progression to Multi-path progression
    From Single media to Multimedia
From Isolated work to Collaborative work
    From Passive learning to Active/inquiry
From Information delivery to Information exchange
From Factual thinking to Critical thinking
From Knowledge-based decision walking to Informed decision making
From Reactive response to Proactive and planned action

The changes mindset from teaching to learning, which gives some lesson to the planning must be done by the lecture or teacher, more over the development of information and communication technology in this era globalization is already developed. So it needs to be done the changes of learning system by using models or methods which can push the students to be an active learner. The using of ICT maybe can be the
    solution of this problem.

    3. In the old paradigm of teaching, the teacher’s knowledge is transferred to passive learners. The absolute, necessary, and sufficient requirement for teachers in this context is complete mastery of the content. The classic classroom is the teacher lecturing and students listening. The students are silent, passive, and in competition with each other.

The new paradigm of teaching is based on the theory and research that have clear applications to instruction. In the new paradigm of teaching, knowledge is actively constructed, discovered, transformed, and extended by students. The teacher’s effort is aimed at developing students’ competencies and talents; education is a personal transaction among students and between teacher and students as they work together. (Johnson, Johnson, & Holubec, 1998).

    5. - e-Learning is a generic term for all technologically supported learning using an array of teaching and learning tools as phone bridging, audio and videotapes, teleconferencing, satellite transmissions, and the more recognized web-based training or computer aided instruction also commonly referred to as online courses (Soekartawi, Haryono dan Librero, 2002).
    - Distance education or distance learning is a field of education that focuses on teaching methods and technology with the aim of delivering teaching, often on an individual basis, to students who are not physically present in a traditional educational setting such as a classroom.
    - In telecommunication, the term computer conferencing has the following meanings:
    a. Teleconferencing supported by one or more computers.
    b. An arrangement in which access, by multiple users, to a common database is mediated by a controlling computer.
    c. The interconnection of two or more computers working in a distributed manner on a common application process. Instant messaging and chat systems are multicasting approaches for computer conferencing.

-Web enhanced course is the utilization of the internet to support the improvement of learning quality done in class.

    3. The change of teaching learning paradigm is about where and how to do the activities. In traditional teaching learning it was expected to do in a face to face situation where the teacher and students are together in one place, whether it the classroom or somewhere else. Then there is homeschooling where the student can do the learning in their home with or without the teacher present. Nowadays, the teaching learning could be done even without a single meeting thanks to technology, specifically the internet, where the teaching learning activities are held through the usage of chat, mailing list, or video conference.

    2. - Web course is the using of e-learning for education, which is the student and the teacher totally separated. It means they never doing face-to-face relationship. All the materials, discussions, consultation, exercises, examination and other activities are totally done in internet.
    - Web Centric Course is using e-learning that mixing between long distance learning and face-to-face learning method. In this model, the teacher can give instruction for the students to learn the materials by web or site in internet that had been made by the teacher. They can find in other sources from other sites too. In face-to-face learning method, the students and teacher can discuss about the materials that found by the student in the internet.
    - Web enhanced course is using e-learning to support the quality of learning in class. Functions of the internet are to provide enrichment and communication between students and teacher, members of the study group, or students with other resource persons. Therefore, teachers are required to master the using of the Internet; to guide students seek and find sites that relevant to the learning materials, to presents the materials through the web, serves guidance and communication through the Internet, and other necessary skill.

    3. In this era, teaching learning paradigm is depended on the students. The students must be more active in learning process. There is no more ‘spoon feeding’ method which means the teacher just give the materials to the students and the students just accept it by hearing and looking the teacher’s explanation in the front of class. We can measure the student’s knowledge by that method. So, in this new learning teaching paradigm, the students need to dig the knowledge by themselves and the teacher as the guidance.

    3. The teaching paradigm has changed from teacher-centered learning into student-centered learning. In the previous decades, the learning process occurs through ‘spoon-feeding’ teaching, but now, students are expected to be more active and use various media for learning, without a demand to be accompanied by a teacher. For example, the students can access so many materials or lessons from internet.
    5. E-learning is a process of learning and acquiring experience of applying skills using electronic devices. Recently, e-learning has become a hot issue in education e.g. education blogs or websites.
Distant learning means teaching learning process that occurs through long distance. It can be through mail, web, or telephone line e.g. diklat jarak jauh.
Computer conferencing is an activity that makes a face-to-face meeting but in long distance through computers e.g. teleconference lectures.

    1. The applications are:
    a. Web browsing. Internet provides so many sources and media that are useful for education, such as websites and blogs. The teacher can find the materials and share them to the students during class.
    b. Social Networking. By applying this using the internet, the students and the teachers can keep in touch each other without being worried about the distance. Moreover, it becomes possible to hold a class through internet. For example, in this class (ICT class), we can share ideas and materials via networking by using Facebook and e-mails.
    c. Streaming. Streaming sources and media is a big improvement in education. This kind of activity can push the students to be more active and more responsible for their learning. In addition, the educators also have a chance to develop their knowledge and skill through this activity. Many people browse Youtube and get many advantages from it.
    d. Downloading. Material resources in internet provide opportunities to be downloaded.
    e. Uploading/Posting. It provides the students to be able to share their ideas e.g. milist(mailing list)

    - Web can be accessed almost anywhere and anytime as long as the supportive vehicle is available. In classroom learning, the access is limited where teacher and students need to go to one place to meet there. It is wasting time and energy.
    - Student outcome in web learning is consistent while classroom activity is varied among the student.
    - Result measurement in classroom activity is difficult, in web activity is quite easy because can be done automatically.
    - Web activity has high retention of information, but classroom activity is varied.
    - Web activity needs lower cost than classroom activity.

    - E-learning is any learning activities that use computer and internet connection to support it.
    - Distance learning is any learning activity where the teacher and students can do the direct physical meeting, so they use some way to interact indirectly.
    - Computer conferencing is connecting with other in a same time through network system. So it is a real-time virtual meeting.

  43. 3. Long time ago, people learn in limited scope, in term of sources and social condition. It happened because of there are no any media that facilitate people to learn in wider scope. But as time goes on, technology is getting developed in order to help people in their activity. One of the technologies that can help in learning is Internet. Internet helps people to connect to other people from other places so people can get any information in wider area. Internet also helps people in data sharing. People can do data transferring & data searching easily. The impact of these advantages in education appears when students don’t have to attend a face to face meeting because information is out there!!! So, teacher is not the only one learning source in this case. Distance, time, and space are no more the problems. We can learn anywhere, anytime, and from anyone.

Web enhanced course: Teaching learning process via online as additional schedule for teacher and learners. So, it is not because of the lecture activity is less than the requirement, but it is done as a extra schedule.

    5. E-Learning is a term to all electric and digital media that used as a tools to supported teaching learning process in the class or another place. 2. Web course is a class at distant and managed online to replace a classroom meeting. For example, distant class in Mr. Arifin’s class.
Web centric course is a "hybrid" course which decreases face-time in exchange for Web-based communication. Some basic computer skills are needed, as is regular Internet access.
Web-enhanced course is an online course activity that complements class sessions without reducing the number of required class meetings. Both online meetings and face-to-face meetings count as class meetings.
    4. Here are some differences between web teaching learning and classroom teaching learning.
o In access, the web teaching learning actually is more flexible. This kind of knowledge transfer can occurs anywhere as long as there is an internet connection and the media for using it. On the other hand, in classroom teaching learning, the knowledge transfer occurs almost only in the classroom.
o In the quality, these types of teaching learning process are different in the media support. We cannot say that classroom teaching learning is bad because in that type of learning teaching the students are taught not only the knowledge (cognitive aspect) but also manner and values (affective aspect), while in web teaching learning the students maybe don’t acquire them.
o In the result measurement, web teaching learning differs from classroom teaching learning in the method. In classroom teaching learning, the teacher usually uses test or exercises to assess the students, when in web teaching learning the teacher can use tasks or even online discussion session.
o In the retention of information, web teaching learning is more promising. Unlike classroom teaching learning which is often boring, web teaching learning provides interesting outfits so that the students will be easier to keep the information.
o In the relative cost, actually, it is much more costless to hold a web teaching learning as long as the media is available. Classroom teaching learning requires the classroom and other equipments to make sure that the teaching learning process can run smoothly. In contrast, web teaching learning only requires the computer and the internet connection.

    5. # E-Learning: The delivery of a learning, training or education program by electronic means. E-learning involves the use of a computer or electronic device (e.g. a mobile phone) in some way to provide training, educational or learning material. (Derek Stockley 2003)

    # Distance learning is a field of education that focuses on teaching methods and technology with the aim of delivering teaching, often on an individual basis, to students who are not physically present in a traditional educational setting such as a classroom. It has been described as "a process to create and provide access to learning when the source of information and the learners are separated by time and distance, or both." Distance education courses that require a physical on-site presence for any reason (including taking examinations) have been referred to as hybrid or blended courses of study.

    # Computer Conferencing: Computer conferencing occurs when two or more users are teleconferencing using two or more computers. Usually, one of the conference participants is in charge of handling what is on the computer screen for all others to see. That person is referred to as a host or moderator. Individuals can all participate in a conference call while looking at one presentation on the computer. They can also communicate by instant messaging. Some computer conferences occur simultaneously with a telephone conference. That way, participants can chat via telephone while they watch what's occurring on the screen.

    5. e-Learning is a genericterm for all technologically supported learning using an array of teaching and learning tools as phone bridging, audio and videotapes, teleconferencing, satellite transmissions, and the more recognized web-based training or computer aided instruction also commonly referred to as online courses

Distance learning occurs when there is a separation between the instructor and the student, usually due to geographical or time concerns that prevent the student from attending an on-campus course. Often, electronic means are used to bridge this gap and distribute educational material though distance learning programs using printed and mailed materials have existed for well over a hundred years. These programs have usually been specially designed to help best meet the needs and requirements that arise when learning is taking place outside of a traditional classroom setting.

Computer conferencing occurs when two or more users are teleconferencing using two or more computers.

Web course is the use of the Internet for educational purposes, in which learners and teachers completely separate and no need for face to face. The whole teaching materials, discussion, consultation, assignments, exercises, exams, and other learning activities delivered entirely over the internet. In other words, this model uses the system remotely.
Web-centric course is the use of the Internet that combines distance learning and face to face (conventional). Some material send via the Internet, and partly through face to face. Complementary function. In this model, teachers can provide clues to the students to learn the course material via the web that has been made. Students are also given directives to seek other sources of relevant websites. In face to face, learners and teachers more discussion about the findings of material that has been learned through the internet.
Web enhanced course is the utilization of the internet to support the promotion of quality learning done in class. Internet functions is to provide enrichment and communication between learners with teachers, fellow students, members of the group, or students with other resource persons. Therefore, the role of teachers in this case are required to master the technique of searching for information on the Internet, guiding students seek and find sites relevant to learning materials, presents the material through the web of interesting and attractive, serves the guidance and communication through the Internet, and other skills is required.
